FREE CARTON MANIFEST CHECKS
Check every carton against the list, not just the count.
Import a list of distinct carton, pallet or serial IDs, then scan each label with your phone camera or a barcode scanner. ManifestBench shows what is missing, what is not on the list and what was scanned twice. Your check stays on your device. No account required.
Free to use. No account, email address or trial. Works offline once prepared.

MADE FOR THE FLOORFor despatch, warehouse, stores and quality teams checking individually labelled cartons, pallets or serial-numbered units against a list, with a phone or a barcode scanner.
A USEFUL STARTING POINT
The right number of cartons is not the same as the right cartons
A load can hold 24 cartons and still be wrong: one belongs to another order and one is still on the packing bench. ManifestBench checks identity, not quantity. Each ID on your list is matched once, by exact text, so a carton from another order shows as Unexpected ID, a second scan of the same label shows as Already seen and never counts twice, and the missing list names every listed ID nobody has scanned. There is no despatch system to learn and nothing to install.
FROM LIST TO CHECKED LOAD
Three steps to a checked list.
- 01
Load the list
Choose a CSV with one row per carton, pallet or serial number. Pick the ID column in the preview and confirm that the IDs are distinct. Leading zeroes stay exact, and blank or duplicate IDs are refused.
- 02
Scan each label
Use the phone camera, a keyboard scanner or type the ID. Each scan shows Seen in this check, Already seen or Unexpected ID, and the counts of observed, missing, unexpected and repeated scans update as you go.
- 03
Finish and download
Review the missing IDs, correct any mistaken scan with a reason, then finish the check. Download a CSV of every observation or an A4 PDF report.
WHAT IT DOES
What a careful manifest check needs.
- 01
Distinct IDs, not quantities
Each row is one carton, pallet or serial number. A list with a repeated ID is refused rather than turned into a quantity, so three scans of one SKU never stand in for three cartons.
- 02
Three clear outcomes
A listed ID is Seen in this check. Scanning it again says Already seen and does not advance progress. An ID that is not on the list is Unexpected and never satisfies another entry.
- 03
Phone camera or scanner
Scan with the phone's rear camera, with a torch button where the phone supports it, or with a USB or Bluetooth scanner that types like a keyboard. The camera stays open between labels and takes a label held in view once.
- 04
Corrections with a reason
Correct a mistaken observation and give a reason. It stays in the history, and a corrected carton goes back on the missing list until it is scanned again. Reopening a finished check also needs a reason.
- 05
Reports in plain files
Download a CSV of every observation, missing ID, correction and finish, an A4 PDF report with coverage and exceptions, or a portable project backup to move the check to another device.
- 06
Ready for offline checks
Choose Prepare for offline use while connected. Checking, saving and downloads then keep working without a signal, which suits yards and loading bays with poor coverage.
WHERE YOUR CHECK IS KEPTOn this device, unless you choose otherwise.
A new check is kept in memory only, so closing or refreshing the tab loses it. Save on this device keeps it in this browser between visits, for anyone using the same browser profile. Neither is a cloud backup, so download a project backup to keep a copy or move a check to another device. The manifest file is read in the browser and never uploaded, and only the ID and description columns you choose are kept.
USED IN PRODUCTION
From a checked list to a connected despatch.
ManifestBench checks one list of IDs at a point in time, on one device. Two SmartFACT services handle work that repeats every day: booking the courier from the work order once the goods are packed, and checking what goes into each kit before it is packed. Both are in early access, with scope agreed at onboarding.
ParcelOffice
When the checked cartons go out by courier, ParcelOffice books the shipment from the work order with two scans: the job, then an approved parcel preset. It sends the courier labels to the bench printer through PrintStation and returns the tracking details to your factory software. Approved plain English rules recommend or choose the parcel.
KitProof
ManifestBench confirms which carton IDs were seen, not what is inside each carton. When a carton holds a kit of parts, KitProof turns approved plain English component rules into each kit's expected parts and quantities, then checks every scan against that plan before the kit leaves the bench.
BEFORE YOU START
A few practical answers.
Is it really free?
Yes. Importing, checking, corrections, saving, offline preparation and every download are free, with no account, email address, trial or watermark. File-size limits keep the browser reliable, and they are the same for everyone.
What do I need?
A phone, tablet or computer with a recent browser, and the list of IDs saved as a CSV file. Scan with the camera, a USB or Bluetooth scanner that types like a keyboard, or type the IDs. Each carton, pallet or unit needs its own unique barcode.
Does it work without internet?
Once prepared. Open ManifestBench while connected and choose Prepare for offline use. When it reports Prepared release, checking, saving and downloads work without a connection. Camera scanning still depends on your browser and camera permission, and these pages need a connection.
Can it check quantities or pallet contents?
No. Each listed ID stands for one carton, pallet or unit. Scanning a pallet ID checks that pallet only, never the cartons on it, and a list with repeated IDs is refused. To count quantities of the same item, use CountBench.
What are the limits?
ManifestBench checks distinct IDs against one imported list. It is not a despatch, shipping or stock system: there are no courier bookings, carrier manifests, SKU quantities, carton contents, stock levels or links to your order system, and a scanned pallet ID never marks the cartons on it as seen. A finished check records which listed IDs were observed; it does not prove that a vehicle was loaded or that goods were accepted. One person controls a check at a time, on one device. Imports are UTF-8 CSV with a header row, up to 5 MiB and 10,000 distinct IDs, with up to 10,000 observations per check. IDs are matched as exact text, so the list must hold exactly what each barcode contains. XLSX import, RFID and emailing results are not supported.
What happens to my data?
Your check stays in this browser. A new check is kept in memory until you choose Save on this device, so closing or refreshing the tab loses unsaved work. The manifest is read in the browser and nothing is uploaded: there is no account, email or upload step. The camera decodes labels on your device, and camera images are never stored or sent. Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you accept; it never receives IDs, file contents, file names or check results. Use Analytics settings to change your choice; see /privacy/.
